Oczywiście, zamiast opisywać Lionnis, to się zająłem niezwiązanym pobocznym projektem. Może pamiętacie, że mieszkający nad Mahnedanem uważają, że świat zbudowany jest z interakcji 7 podstawowych sił: Gwiazd, Słońca, Chmur, Krwi, Rzeki, Gleby i Skały. W tym systemie pojęciowym ludzie i większość zwierząt ich otaczających zbudowani są z Gleby ożywionej Krwią, poddanej działaniu Rzeki.
A co gdyby byli sobie ludzie zbudowani z Chmur?
Aha'ayau jest takim o zwykłym przedstawicielem swojego ludu, ubiera się ciepło bo wysoko w chmurach jest zimno i mokro, twarz chroni przed wiatrem, a w ręku dzierży kij do poganiania bydła, który strzela błyskawicami.
A to chmurowca, których liczne stada pasie nasz pasterz:
Chmurowce żerują na algach i wilgoci występujących wysoko w chmurach, przerabiając je na puszystą wełnę i wodór, który nadyma pęcherze na ich ciałach i pozwala unosić się wysoko. Gdy całe stado chmurowiec obsiądzie cumulusa albo cumulonimbusa, to z poziomu ziemi nie widać różnicy, bo z daleka te zwierzomtka przypominają puszyste, białe chmurki. Pasterze sprzedają osiadłym ziemianom ich wełnę, co oczywiste, ale też i pęcherze wypełnione wodorem.
W zaganianiu chmurowiec pomagają psy pasterskie - z zachowania są równie bystre co ich ziemskie odpowiedniki, ale z wyglądu trochę się różnią:
Dzięki dużej płetwie ogonowej są szybkie i zwinne.
Oczywiście nie mogłoby być prawdziwego pasterza-nomady bez wierzchowca:
Ten chmurokoń ma założoną ozdobną uprząż na karku i długą kapę. Na potężnej płetwie ogonowej widać dwoje wielkich łże-oczu, których widok ma odstraszać drapieżniki.
Ale jakie drapieżniki? Ano w chmurach na stada spokojnych chmurowiec też czyhają zęby i pazury (czy raczej dzioby i odnóża) straszliwych powietrznych wilków!
Gdy wataha tych bestii napadnie na stadko chmurowiec, elektryczny kij Aha'ayau okazuje się być niezbędny do odparcia ataku!
Na ten moment wydaje mi się, że Nomadzi Chmur pasę swe stada hen daleko nad Stepem, rzadko kiedy zapuszczając się nad Mahnedan, więc ich powiązanie np z takim Lionnis jest bardzo niepewne. Być może większą rolę będą mieli do odegrania w przyszłości tego świata, kiedy ludy znad Wielkiej Rzeki ruszą kolonizować Step?
Nie byłbym sobą, gdybym na koniec nie dorzucił jeszcze tabelki k6 słów w Chmurnym. To mogą być imiona, powitania, nazwy, polecenia czy cokolwiek innego:

Of course, instead of describing Lionnis, I've taken up an unrelated side project. You may remember that those living on the Mahnedan believe the world is composed of the interaction of the seven fundamental forces: the Stars, the Sun, the Clouds, the Blood, the River, the Soil, and the Rock. In this system, humans and most of the animals around them are composed of the Soil animated by the Blood, subjected to the influence of the River.
But what if there were humans made of Clouds?
Meet Aha'ayau, the cloud shepherd:
Aha'ayau is an ordinary representative of his people. He dresses warmly because it's cold and wet high in the clouds, protects his face from the wind, and carries a cattle prod that shoots lightning.
And here are the cloud sheep, whose numerous flocks our shepherd herds:
Cloud sheep feed on algae and moisture found high in the clouds, transforming them into fluffy wool and hydrogen, which inflates the bladders on their bodies and allows them to soar. When an entire flock of cloud sheep occupies a cumulus or a cumulonimbus cloud, you can't really see them from the ground, because from a distance, these little creamtures resemble fluffy, white clouds. The shepherds sell their wool, of course, but also their hydrogen-filled bladders to the settled land-dwellers.
As always, shepherd dogs help herd the cloud sheep – they are just as smart in as their terrestrial counterparts, but they differ slightly in appearance:
Thanks to their large tail fin, they are fast and agile.
Of course, there wouldn't be a true nomadic shepherd without a steed:
This cloud horse wears a decorative harness around its neck and a long cape. On its powerful tail fin there are two large, fake bright eyes, the sight of which is meant to deter predators.
But what kind of predators? Well, in the clouds also, the teeth and claws (or rather, beaks and legs) of fearsome air wolves await the flocks of peaceful cloud sheep!
When a pack of these beasts attacks a flock of cloud sheep, Aha'ayau's electric staff proves essential in repelling the attack!
For now, it seems to me that the Cloud Nomads graze their flocks far above the Steppe, rarely venturing over Mahnedan, so their connection to someplace like Lionnis is very uncertain. Perhaps they will have a greater role to play in the future of this world, when the peoples of the Great River begin to colonize the Steppe?
